Halfway There, Living on a Prayer (and Blood Transfusions)

Alright, team! We’ve officially reached the halfway point in this induction chemo rollercoaster. Josh is currently sporting a lovely shade of hospital-chic pale and rocking that “I haven’t slept properly in days” look, but hey, who needs a tan when you’ve got cancer to fight, right?

Today’s adventure involved a delightful little blood transfusion. Because apparently, chemo not only wages war on cancer cells, but it also has a nasty habit of taking out all the good guys too. Who knew?

But seriously, folks, this whole blood transfusion thing got me thinking. We often take for granted the incredible generosity of strangers. Someone, somewhere, decided to roll up their sleeve and donate the very blood that’s helping Josh fight this battle. How amazing is that?

So, here’s your friendly reminder that donating blood is a superpower we all possess. It’s a simple act that can literally save lives. If you’ve ever considered donating, now’s the time! You can learn more about the process and find a donation center near you here: https://www.redcrossblood.org/

In other news, Josh is in generally good spirits. The doctors are happy with his progress, and he’s still managing to crack jokes (although they’re getting progressively more dad-joke-esque, which is a whole other concern).

We’re taking things one day at a time, celebrating the small victories, and clinging to hope like it’s the last life raft on a sinking ship. Thanks for being here with us on this crazy journey. Your love and support mean the world.

Noel

I’ve got a few Dad jokes I just heard. Maybe, if Josh hasn’t heard them before, he can add to his repertoire.

Q: What to you call a fish with two knees?
    A: a Two-knee-fish

Q: What do you call a cow with no legs
    A: Ground beef

A guy got into an accident playing peekaboo. He’s in the ICU

Hopefully y’all will chuckle at those like I did.

Keep up the fight Josh! Sending big love and prayers 😘😘😘🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
