Well, folks, the hospital saga continues. Josh is still hanging out in his deluxe suite (aka a hospital room with a questionable view), but fear not, he’s keeping the nurses entertained with his impressive collection of facts. (Seriously, I’m starting to think we need an intervention.)
But the real reason we’re still here is for the main event: the bone marrow biopsy. Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Didn’t they already poke enough holes in this poor guy?” And the answer, my friends, is apparently not.
For those unfamiliar with this medical marvel, a bone marrow biopsy involves sticking a giant needle into your hip bone (because where else would they stick it?) and extracting a tiny sample of marrow. It sounds delightful, doesn’t it?
But don’t worry, Josh will be sedated. (Although, knowing him, he’ll probably try to negotiate with the anesthesiologist for extra sleepy time.)
The results of this biopsy will tell us what our next steps are. If those pesky cancer cells are still lurking in his marrow, we’ll gear up for another round of chemo to wipe them out completely. But if the coast is clear, we get to skip the chemo cocktail and move straight to the “wait and see” phase, where we patiently (or not so patiently) wait for his bone marrow to regenerate.
Now, while we’re on the topic of bone marrow, let’s talk about something equally important: blood donation. Did you know that blood transfusions and blood products are crucial for cancer patients, especially during chemo? They help replenish red blood cells, platelets, and other vital components that get depleted during treatment.
So, if you’re feeling inspired to be a real-life superhero, consider donating blood or platelets. You can find more information and locate a donation center near you here: [insert link to a reputable blood donation website]. It’s a simple act that can make a world of difference.
In the meantime, we’ll be here, holding down the fort at the hospital, armed with bad jokes, endless snacks, and an unwavering belief in Josh’s ability to conquer anything. Thanks for being on this journey with us, folks. Your support means everything.
Sending love to you both.
Much love and prayers from Maine 🙏🏻🩷🫶
Don’t they use an Warhammer to do this… right? He’s well prepared.
Anxious to hear the next report after the bone morrow biopsy. Sending love, prayers and best wishes today.
