Well folks, we did it! We survived the first round of this chemo rodeo. Josh is officially DONE with induction chemo, and let me tell you, the man deserves a medal (and a lifetime supply of saltines). He’s been poked, prodded, infused, and generally messed with more times than I can count, but he’s still standing. Sure, he might resemble a slightly melted version of his former self, but hey, who needs perfection when you’re kicking cancer’s butt?
Now, before we break out the confetti and party hats, there’s still one small hurdle to clear: a bone marrow biopsy next week. Essentially, they’re going to poke around in his bones (because apparently, we haven’t poked him enough already) to make sure those bad boys are nice and empty. Think of it as the final inspection before we can officially declare victory in this round.
Assuming the biopsy gives us the green light, it’s time to play the waiting game. We need to give Josh’s bone marrow a chance to regrow and recover, which basically means lots of rest, hospital food, and probably an unhealthy amount of Warhammer 40k.
This waiting period is going to be tough. It’s the calm before the storm, the deep breath before the plunge. But we’ll get through it, just like we’ve gotten through everything else. We’ll focus on the positive, celebrate the small victories, and keep our eyes on the prize: getting Josh back to his old self, one step at a time.
So stay tuned, my friends. The saga continues. And as always, thank you for being here with us on this wild ride. Your love and support mean the world.
Noel
